Agriculture is a very broad term, but to sum it up, we can state that it is the science, art, and practice of cultivating plants and livestock. Agriculture was the key development in the rise of inactive human civilization, by which farming of domesticated species created food surpluses that enabled people to live in cities. However, farming is the process of cultivating the land and raising livestock, which is only one part of agriculture. The big picture of the term “agriculture” also includes plant science.
